Google Expeditions

Today our school had a special visit from Google Expeditions. We used 3D goggles to visit amazing places around the world.
Vitaraag's had fun exploring with the goggles but his favourite part was swimming with sharks.
Lupe liked the dolphins but her favourite part was seeing the colourful and beautiful turtle.
Sione liked being in the Amazon and looking through the forest.

A Trip to the Park!

On Friday Kahukiwa Class had a trip to the park as a reward for PB4L. They are such positive learners. Sione, a 100 points earner, played on the swing and the slide as well as the trampoline. His favourite part was climbing the rope.

Claude in the City

In Kahukiwa class we are reading the book 'Claude in the City'. We have been thinking about adventures that we could have in a city after hearing about some of Claude's adventures.
We have made a book about Claude's and his adventures that we have put on our class library shelf to read during quiet times.
Fatima and Tearo enjoy reading the book together.

More Planes From The Past by Kahukiwa Class.

In Kahukiwa we have made peg and ice-block stick planes to look at how the shapes of planes have changed. We really enjoyed making the planes and the boys were practicing barrel rolls.

Patrick " We looked at planes from the past to see the difference in wooden airplanes. The olden day planes didn't have roofs. The best part of the whole lesson was putting them up on the ceiling because it looks like they're flying around!"

Raden "We glued the planes together with hot glue. When I got home I made four wooden airplanes. I made them because I wanted to play with them more. I practiced throwing them and decorated them. Getting the glue onto the planes was hard. My mum helped me with it at home."
